Points to Know Before Market Opens
US stock futures edged higher on Tuesday morning, building on the previous session's artificial intelligence-led rally that pushed the Nasdaq Composite to a record close. Dow futures rose 170 points, or 0.32 percent, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.12 percent and Nasdaq 100 futures ticked up 0.14 percent. Market participants are currently weighing enthusiasm around Meta's new Muse AI assistant against falling oil prices and Treasury yields that remain near levels capable of pressing growth stocks.
The broader market environment found some relief in the energy sector, where Brent crude slipped below $100 per barrel to approximately $99.45 following reports that Iran might reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a week if Washington eases military pressure. This drop in oil prices pulled the 10-year Treasury yield down about 2.4 basis points to 4.93 percent. Meanwhile, investor focus remains on upcoming AutoZone earnings, fresh ADP private-employment figures, and scheduled commentary from multiple Federal Reserve speakers, which will help shape expectations for an October interest rate hike currently priced at a 57.6 percent probability.
The 10-year Treasury yield decreased by 0.036 at 4.927%. The 2-year Treasury decreased by 0.025 points at 4.728%.
