Indian Rupee Finished The Day at 95.9550 against the US Dollar

Financial Market Overview

Indian Rupee

The Indian rupee closed at 95.955 on Wednesday in comparison to its previous closing 95.955 on Tuesday evening. The Indian rupee recently drifted downward to its weakest level since late July, hovering near the critical 96 per dollar threshold as persistent dollar demand from domestic corporations and high-stakes anticipation surrounding the upcoming U.S. Federal Reserve rate decision heavily impacted market sentiment. Although crude oil prices pulled back slightly, they continued to trade comfortably above the 100 dollar per barrel mark, compounding external pressures on emerging market currencies. Meanwhile, active interventions by the Reserve Bank of India successfully curbed sharper depreciations and helped defend key technical levels. Global investors now await the crucial FOMC policy announcement and accompanying commentary for definitive guidance on whether central bankers will enact further monetary tightening amid ongoing global inflation worries and surging sovereign yields.
