Indian Rupee Finished The Day at 94.93

The Indian rupee closed at 94.93 on Friday in comparison to its previous closing 94.8175 on Thursday evening. Indian Rupee (INR) is steadily strengthening toward the lower end of its six-month USD/INR range of 94.14 to 96.95, driven by recent foreign exchange support measures from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This upward momentum is further buoyed by speculative buying fueled by hopes of a US-India trade agreement, strong foreign participation in Reliance Jio's $3.2 billion IPO, and growing RBI concerns over inflation noted in its latest meeting minutes. However, analysts caution that the long-term sustainability of this Rupee rally will ultimately hinge on global oil prices, foreign portfolio flows, and the overall direction of the US Dollar.
The Sensex was down 299.06 points or 0.41 percent at 72,950.33, and the Nifty was down 158.60 points or 0.70 percent at 22,529.05. About 578 shares advanced, 3421 shares declined, and 129 shares unchanged.
