Resurgence in UK Services: July PMI Signals Renewed Growth and Optimism

The UK services sector returned to expansion in July, with the S&P Global PMI rising to 52.1 from 48.8 in June and breaking a three-month contraction streak. This recovery was supported by a modest uptick in new orders and easing input cost pressures driven by lower fuel prices following a ceasefire in the Middle East. Although employment levels continued to drop, business confidence reached a five-month high, pushing the composite output index to 52.2 and pointing to broader economic resilience.
