Indian Rupee Is Trading at 95.1700 against US Dollar

Financial Market Overview
Indian Rupee
On Thursday, the Indian rupee is trading at 95.1700 versus the US dollar. The Indian Rupee traded lower against the US Dollar near 95.22 as crude oil prices recovered slightly from recent lows, though broader currency appreciation is anticipated due to progress between Iran and Oman on stabilizing navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Countervailing energy supply risks persisted alongside ongoing Red Sea tanker attacks, while the domestic economic landscape remained influenced by the Reserve Bank of India maintaining its repo rate at 5.25% with a neutral stance. Concurrently, global investors shifted their focus toward the upcoming United States Nonfarm Payrolls release for July, which economists expect will show modest job growth and a steady unemployment rate of 4.2%.
Indian Equities
Indian equity benchmarks gained positive momentum as the Sensex advanced following a decline in global crude oil prices below the $80 threshold, driven by encouraging diplomatic developments involving the Strait of Hormuz. Complementing this favorable macroeconomic backdrop, the Reserve Bank of India decided to keep the repo rate steady at 5.25 percent, offering vital predictability for real estate developers, homebuyers, and financial institutions navigating international uncertainties. Across the broader corporate landscape, several enterprises reported resilient quarterly financial performances, while new fintech innovations and strategic market expansions continued to shape a dynamic commercial environment.
