Indian Rupee Finished The Day at 95.1175

The Indian rupee closed at 95.1175 on Wednesday in comparison to its previous 95.3775 on Tuesday. The Indian Rupee pulled back from its monthly highs to trade near 95.12 against the US Dollar after the Reserve Bank of India maintained its repo rate at 5.25% for the fourth consecutive time with a neutral stance, while broader market sentiment was simultaneously influenced by falling oil prices on US-Iran diplomatic hopes and anticipation surrounding upcoming US employment data.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex closed 152 points higher (up 0.2%) Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 9 points higher. Hindalco, NTPC and JSW Steel among the top gainers today. TCS, HCL Tech and Sun Pharma on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

Indian equity benchmarks closed in the green after a volatile session, with the BSE Sensex gaining 152 points to reach 78,581 and the NSE Nifty edging up to 24,624.65. Investor confidence received a significant boost from the Reserve Bank of India's decision to hold the benchmark repo rate unchanged at 5.25% under a neutral stance, sparking a strong rebound in real estate stocks. Individual stock highlights included Ola Electric surging over 10% following a 20 GWh battery energy storage MoU with Axis Energy, alongside Sterlite Technologies hitting its 5% upper limit on anticipated US restrictions against Chinese optical equipment. While buying in metals, autos, and realty led by top gainers such as Hindalco, NTPC, and UltraTech Cement helped lift the broader indices, persistent selling in IT giants like TCS and HCL Tech capped overall market gains.
