Euro Gains Against Underperforming Japanese Yen

The Euro climbed 0.1% against the Japanese Yen during Wednesday's European session, reaching approximately 185.20 as the Yen struggled across the board. This move occurred despite clarifications from Japan’s Growth Strategy Minister Minoru Kiuichi, who confirmed that the government is not actively promoting a low-interest rate environment or loosening fiscal discipline. Meanwhile, investors remain cautious regarding the Eurozone's outlook due to conflicting messages from European Central Bank officials regarding inflation, while Bank of Japan member Toichiro Asada maintained that interest rate hikes will only be justified when inflation is driven by stronger, demand-based economic forces.

MIB opened down 0.7% at 52,114.52, the Mid-Cap shed 1.1% to 61,908.29, the Small-Cap slipped 0.5% to 36,991.49 and the Italy Growth index rose 0.1% to 9,161.44. In Europe, the DAX 40 fell 1.1%, the CAC 40 opened down 0.9% while the FTSE 100 lost 0.7%.
